Introducing:
Our new Educational Program Director
The
Oregon Council of Hostelling International is thrilled to
introduce Jennifer Bullock,
our new Educational Program Director.
Jennifer
is responsible for ensuring that our educational programs
serve our community, though building partnerships, managing
volunteers, and coordinating workshops. She and her team of
two nonprofit interns from Portland State's Master's of Public
Administration programs, Sean Files and Therese Vogel,
will be expanding our outreach efforts to further the
Hostelling International mission: "to
help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding
of the world and its people through hostelling."

Sunday Brunch
- Sundays at the HI-Portland Hawthorne Hostel We've been doing brunch at the
Hostel for over a year and a half! But wait...you still
haven't stopped by? Well, come on down! There is always plenty
of food available, but you can make it EVEN BETTER by bringing
your own special dish! Brunch is what we make of it! And
we've been making it good! Recipes tested and perfected in the
Gracie's Kitchen Laboratory include the famous tofu scramble
and vegan biscuits and gravy good enough to fool the most
ardent dairy-vore. And we'll be making those recipes, and
others, this week!Don't forget, brunch is a great
opportunity to try out your conversation skills. Who knows who
will be there? This may be a good opportunity to test your
foreign language skills: the Hawthorne Hostel is an
international place! Or pick up the guitar and serenade us all
with brunch music. We won't even care if all you can play is
"Stairway"!WHAT
TO BRING: a dish to share, raw ingredients to make stuff, or a
modest monetary donation to pay for supplies. And you can
always help the Gracie's Chefs!Every First Thursday
