HI-USA- Becoming A “Peace” of the Solution

“Such passion and energy! These people will change the world!!” This was just one of the many comments the San Diego Council received from participants after hosting the first ever HI-USA Peace Building Conference on March 7-9. “Peace-ing Communities Together” brought over 40 young adults (ages 18-29) from around the country to San Diego to learn, discuss and network around peace-building.

Boston Kicks off Harambe Cultural Series

On Saturday May 17th, Hostelling International's Eastern New England Council (HI-ENEC) will launch the Harambe Cultural Series with a fun-filled evening of dancing and live music from Latin Afro-funk band, Umoja Orchestra. A menu of Latin and Caribbean food and drink will be on hand, as well as a silent auction benefiting Cultural Kitchen, and after school program, for Boston's inner-city youth, promoting intercultural understanding through cooking. The event will take place at the Harriet Tubman House Atrium in Boston's South End from 8 to 10 pm.
