If you believe giving back makes for a more rewarding travel experience, then you’re just like us. And if you believe these types of experiences shouldn’t be costly, we’re also right there with you. For this reason, throughout January and February, any group of 8 or more can stay for free at one of our 30+ participating hostels for each day they volunteer at least 2 hours in the local community, up to 5 nights.

It’s part of HI USA’s Annual Great Hostel Give Back program, and it’s open to service groups, school groups, or groups of friends – anyone who wants to work together to serve a community while having a meaningful travel experience. You’re welcome to choose your own project, or if you need help identifying a worthy organization, we are happy to provide a recommendation.

And while you’re staying with us, take advantage of lounges, kitchens, and dining rooms to connect with our diverse community of travelers from all over the world. You can also join free events, tours, and activities to explore the hidden gems of the city. Half the fun of staying at a HI USA hostel is getting to know the friends you haven’t met yet, and we make it easy for that to happen.
