One of our favorite things about our hostels are Community Dinners. Sometimes they are planned and happen regularly and sometimes they spontaneously happen when a bunch of travelers come together on their own to make and share food with each other. From big hostels like HI San Francisco City Center to smaller ones like HI Richmond, Community Dinners are a staple of the HI USA hostel experience. Not only are they a great place to meet people from around the world, there’s always free food! What could be better? Here’s a round-up of some community dinners from around our hostel network.
Who doesn’t want free tacos on National Taco Day? We can’t think of a single person.
You always get what you like on Make Your Own Pizza Night.
Nobody ever said you HAVE to eat tacos on Tuesday. HI Baltimore’s Friday Taco Party is pretty epic.
HI San Francisco City Center
When our awesome volunteers get involved, our guests get to eat dinner with the locals.
Whatever the meal you’re sharing, it looks even better around the dining room table in a mansion.
HI Richmond takes Community Dinners to a whole new level by bringing in chefs who specialize in cuisines from different countries and welcoming in members of the community to join the fun.
HI Portland Hawthorne
When you’re surrounded by great company, elbow room is overrated.
