Have you ever wanted to stay in an historic fire station? Then you will love HI Little Rock, Firehouse Hostel. Built in 1917, this unique hostel is a beautiful Craftsman-style building located right in historic MacArthur Park in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. Formerly Old Fire Station 2, not only do guests stay in dorms that once housed firefighters, but the building also houses a museum about firefighting history with authentic firefighting artifacts and equipment from the early 20th century. Fun fact: retired firefighters lead in-depth tours of the museum.
HI Little Rock is within walking distance of the the vibrant River Market neighborhood where you’ll find the William (Bill) J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, farmers markets, bars and restaurants, and an extensive network of riverside parks and trails. Art lovers will appreciate the nearby Arkansas Art Center, just north of the hostel. The hostel offers a wide variety of free amenities and several common areas where guests from around the world can gather. We encourage you to borrow one of the hostel’s bikes and get to know the city. Cook your meals in the shared guest kitchen, and be sure to enjoy the hostel’s daily free breakfast.
