Hostels in Louisiana
Situated on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and at the mouth of the Mississippi River, Louisiana was an important location in the early days of European settlement in North America. Waves of French and Spanish colonists, as well as slaves and traders from Africa and the Carribean, contributed to a multi-ethnic, and multilingual society long before Louisiana became part of the United States. The impact these cultures had heavily influenced Louisana and can still be felt today in its largest city, New Orleans.
