Beer & Cheese Fest

On January 20th, the Isthmus will be hosting a Beer & Cheese Fest at the Alliant Energy Center. Just a quick 2-mile bus ride from the hostel will get you to the best beer and cheese Wisconsin has to offer! Click here for more information and tickets.

Zoo Lights

Henry Vilas Zoo is turned into a twinkling wonderland every winter! For just $7 you can enjoy this festive Madison tradition Thursday - Sunday from November 24 through December 31st. Visit vilaszoo.org/zoolights for more information.

Cross Country Ski

Enjoy 22 miles of signed and groomed trails in seven of Madison’s parks. Can’t travel with your skis? Many locations have ski, boot, and pole rentals available for under $10. Learn more at cityofmadison.com/parks/crosscountryskiing.

Taste Midwest Cuisine

Madison is home to some amazing restaurants. Some of our favorites include the amazing Cheese Curds at The Old Fashioned, Brunch at Short Stack, and Ian’s Mac & Cheese Pizza. Be sure to ask our staff for some restaurant recommendations while you’re in Madison!

Attend a Badger Basketball Game!

This winter the University of Madison will be decked in red supporting the Badgers basketball team! With the Kohl Center just blocks from the hostel be sure to show some local support and go watch a game. Ice Skating

Located between two HUGE lakes one can imagine all the ice skating opportunities you have in Madison this winter. Be sure to check out all these amazing skating events happening at The Edgewater! Visit cityofmadison.com/parks/iceskating for more information.

Visit Wisconsin’s State Capitol

The State Capitol will have a new look during the holiday season with a 40 plus foot Christmas tree! Visit tours.wisconsin.gov for more information.
