If you’ve traveled, then you probably remember a time when a place or culture was nothing like you thought. Maybe you had an idea of what somewhere would be like and you were totally surprised.
By allowing yourself to change your mind, that journey transformed you into a global citizen, a humbling experience built on peace and understanding. This is the message we’re sending to the United Nations.
On September 21, join the first ever Peace Postcard Project, where travelers from around the world share with the United Nations how travel has transformed them.
In today’s highly digital age, mail is a disrupter. And that’s what we intend to do: create a disruption by sending the UN thousands of postcards about travel’s ability to change minds, build peace and create understanding.
There are 3 ways to participate:
- Visit a HI hostel and attend a Peace Postcard Party (hostels in more than 30 countries are participating, but check in advance).
- Visit MyPostcard.com from anywhere in the world and have a postcard sent to the UN at no cost to you.
- Get on Twitter and tag @UN with #PeacePostcard and let them know how travel has opened your mind.
Together we can make the world listen.
