The “Profile of the International Youth Traveler to the U.S.” is a global survey of inbound travelers aged 15-29, conducted by the WYSE Travel Confederation for Hostelling International USA. Extensive findings reveal the motivations, attitudes, spending habits, and travel patterns of these young visitors. See key findings now by completing the form below.
Insights from the Report
From 2019 to 2023, the number of overseas travelers aged 18-34 visiting the U.S. dropped by about 3 million, falling from 11.7 million in 2019 to 8.7 million in 2023, and resulting in an estimated $7 billion loss to the U.S. economy. The diplomatic loss of these young people not having the opportunity to experience all the U.S. has to offer is inestimable. At the same time, other countries like Australia and the United Kingdom already have recognized the value of youth and student segment, and have developed specific plans to attract them.
