We are happy to receive your packages sent to the hostel, however please be aware that we do not accept packages unless the guest is checked in.
We do not accept any personal letters. Exceptions are sometimes made when guests notify us ahead of time they are expecting important items such as a passport, a driver’s license, or a credit card. If you are expecting this type of personal letter, please let us know at the front desk or by emailing us at [email protected].
Before sending anything to the hostel, please take note of the correct address. Remember we can only accept mail in-season — we are not able to receive guest mail during the off season.
Bunk beds are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us in advance by emailing [email protected] if you have a strong preference for a top/lower bunk and we will do our best to accommodate you; however, please note that requests cannot be guaranteed.

We strongly recommend arriving at the hostel by car.
Reaching HI Truro without a car is tricky. You can take the Fast Ferry from Boston to Provincetown and catch the Flex bus to Truro. You can also take the Peter Pan bus from Boston’s Logan airport or South Station to Hyannis, and then catch the H2O Bus to Orleans, followed by the Flex bus to Truro.
Both of these public transportation options will get you to the town, but not the hostel.
Pets are not permitted at any HI USA hostels. We do permit service animals as identified by ADA guidelines. At all times, service animals must be under the owner’s control and never left alone.
Free guest parking is available at the hostel on a first-come, first-served basis.
Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. – 7 a.m.
We do not have curfew or lock-out hours, but note that you must be checked in prior to 9 p.m. on your day of arrival.
Unfortunately, guest laundry facilities are not available at the hostel.
Please speak to someone at the Front Desk in person. We are pleased to match any publicly advertised online rate* for additional nights booked directly through us. While we strive to keep you in the same room/bed, this is based on availability at the time of your request. The sooner you can let us know you’d like to extend, the better. Please let us know no later than check-out time (in most cases, 11 a.m.) on the day of your scheduled check out.
*Offer applies only to newly added room nights and cannot be applied to existing reservations.
Our historic property does not have an elevator. If you are a wheelchair user, please contact us in advance of your stay.
Yes, hair dryers are available in all hostel bathrooms.
All towels and linens are included in the cost of your stay.
There are several places out back behind the hostel where guests can lock up their bikes. Please bring your own lock.
The maximum length of stay is 14 nights pers season.
We do not offer hostel-run tours at this time. We recommend checking out one of our local tour partners to make the most of your visit to the Cape!
The hostel is very peaceful, with free WiFi and lots of comfortable shared spaces you’re welcome to work from. Please be aware that the only way to ensure private workspace should you require it is to book a private room.

Minors traveling with a parent or legal guardian are welcome at all HI USA hostels. While we encourage guardians traveling with children to book private rooms for their comfort, we do allow minors in dorm rooms.
For safety reasons, children over 2 years old must have their own bunk bed in dorm rooms, and children under 7 may not sleep in top bunks. Emancipated minors traveling on their own, or other minors traveling alone with parental or guardian consent, should contact the hostel directly for more information on policies and booking instructions.
HI Truro is in a relatively secluded location ideal for travelers seeking a quiet, peaceful retreat. The hostel overlooks the water and is just a few minutes’ walk from spectacular Ballston Beach.
You’ll need a car to get around the area and reach places like grocery stores and restaurants. We recommend visiting a grocery store before your stay and making your own meals in our fully stocked guest kitchen.
Early check in and late check out are both available for purchase. Please see the front desk for availability and pricing.
Limited free luggage storage is available. Please ask the front desk for assistance.
We accept all forms of debit and credit cards including Apple Pay/Google Pay/tap to pay. We also accept cash (with an additional deposit). We capture payment in full at check-in (or prior to, in cases of non-refundable rates).
